Run, Run, Run: A Rap For Mormon Apologists

¶1You said we could talk. You said bring the facts. And I brought up Joseph and you never came back. >> [music] [singing] >> You don't want to face him. You just want to chase Rome, throw stones at the church, then run back home.

¶2Big talk online, [music and singing] bold claims in the chat, but when Joseph takes the stand, you don't know how to act. You say he was chosen, [music] I say look at the fruit. Secret rooms, locked doors, half-told truths, new wives in the dark, old lies in the light. One face for the crowd, [music] another face at night. He claimed he was sent with a word from the throne and hid what he did from the wife in his home.

¶3[music] Call that a prophet, man. Call that a mass. You don't need deep study, just ask what he asked. Did God really send him? Why dodge the [music] defense?

¶4Why change the whole topic when the room gets tense? You don't defend Joseph, you attack the creed cuz the moment we test him, he starts to [music] bleed. Joseph Smith was a false prophet. THAT'S WHY THEY WON'T DEFEND HIM. They'd rather swing at Christians.

¶5>> [music] >> Than deal with what condemned him. Run, run, run from the facts in the room. Run from the wives. Run from the tomb. [music] Run from the book.

¶6Run from the stone. Run from the prophet you won't own. Joseph Smith was a false prophet. The case is not that hard. No wonder they dodge [music] the question.

¶7When Joseph takes the charge. Let's [music] talk translation. Let's talk claims. Let's talk old scrolls with brand new names. He said [music] Abraham, experts said no.

¶8Now watch the whole story start moving slow. It's [music] deeper than language, it's not what it seems. That's what they say when they bury the scene. When [music] the words don't match, when the facts don't fit, they don't drop the claim, they just soften it. [music] Then fake plates show up and Joseph leans in.

¶9Says he can tell where the story begins, but when the truth [music] gets exposed years later, they call [singing] it a small thing, man. Do me a favor. A prophet [music] should see what the rest of us miss, not fall for what's wrapped with a holy grin. You call that discernment, [music] I call that smoke. The more that you study, the more it looks broke.

¶10>> Joseph Smith was a false >> [music] >> prophet. That's why they won't defend him. They'd rather [music] swing at Christians. Than deal with what condemned him. Run, run, [music] run from the facts in the room.

¶11Run from the wives. Run from the tomb. Run from the book. Run from the stone. Run from the [music] prophet you won't own.

¶12Joseph Smith was a false prophet. The case is not [music] that hard. No wonder they dodge the question. >> [music] >> When Joseph You knock on doors with a smile and a verse, but when we open yours, it only gets worse. [music] You say, "Let's debate what the Bible means." I say, "Fine, but first, let's test [music] your king." You want a run trial, you want Paul in the chair, you want councils and popes with the whole world there, but Joseph, [music] no witness, no answer, no nerve, just a hard left turn when the questions curve.

¶13Was he true? Was he sent? Was he clean? Did he bend? Was he honest with Emma?

¶14[music] Did the trail ever end? Don't preach with your chest if you fold under light. Don't call [music] it restored if it can't survive sight. Don't tell me your prophet brought truth from above and >> [music] >> hide every fact that your people won't love. He burned up the paper that told what he did, then acted like truth was the thing that he hid.

¶15If the claims were false, [music] then answer the claim. Why kill the press if you're clear of the blame? That's not bold [music] faith, that's fear in the suit, power with the badge and a hand on the root. He wanted the [music] stay, but not the review. Wanted the crown, but not what came due and [music] that's why you guys don't defend him straight.

¶16They dance around words to switch up the slate. They'll mock the Trinity, joke about [music] Rome, but ask about Joseph and nobody's home. So bring all the clips, >> [music] >> bring all the heat, bring every argument into the street, but don't skip the prophet, don't cover his name. If Joseph falls, [music] then so does the claim. Joseph Smith was a false prophet.

¶17That's why they won't defend him. [music] They'd rather swing at Christians. Than deal with what condemned him. Run, [music] run, run from the facts in the room. Run from the wives.

¶18Run from the tomb. Run from the book. [music] Run from the stone. Run from the prophet you won't own. Joseph Smith was a false prophet.

¶19The case is not that hard. No wonder they dodge the question. >> [music] >> When Joseph takes the charge. You said bring the facts. So [music] I brought the file.

¶20You said defend the truth. And vanished [music] with a smile. If he's your prophet, put him on the stand. But if you won't defend [singing] him, we all understand. >> [music]
