CATHOLIC JOE SCHMID PROMOTES PDF-FILES STORY

¶1Big news. >> Hello there and welcome. I am the sound of science and on this channel we dissect the bad arguments that people have for believing in ghosts, goblins, gods, and other unproven concepts. Today we're going to discuss Joe Schmidt, a guy who formerly posed as an atheist but recently claimed to have converted to Catholicism. Joe apparently wants to be a Catholic, so he now worships a god who voluntarily chooses to drown babies and children in a planned and systematic manner.

¶2The main reason Joe gives for his conversion, in my opinion, is disgusting and should not serve as any example for anyone else. Luckily, there are much more simple and credible explanations for Joe choosing the dark side. Let's dive into it. >> Big news. God exists.

¶3Christ is Lord. >> No, that's not the news at all. Nothing changed in the real world. Your god didn't all of a sudden show up. There is still no evidence that proves the existence of your god, even after 2,000 years of Christian god claims.

¶4>> I'm not kidding. I just converted to Catholicism. >> All that really changed is that you now decided to believe the fairy tales in an old book, and people like yourself starting to believe crazy stuff is not news at all. >> I'm Joe Schmidt. I'm a PhD student in philosophy at Princeton University and I've been an agnostic and public critic of theism and Catholicism for quite some time.

¶5[music] But earlier this year that all changed. >> Why? Nothing changed. The sky didn't split open revealing good old god smiling at us. I think the only thing that changed is the level of your gullibility.

¶6>> A dude conversion is a change of heart and mind. And that just happened. >> But it's also a change of cash, isn't it, Joe? Look, here are your views before you claimed to be a Catholic. 4,000 views, 5,000 views, 11,000 views.

¶7And these are your views after you claim to be a Catholic. 88,000 views, 128,000 views, 169,000 views. Dude, you tenfold did your views and your YouTube money by claiming to be a Catholic. Now, that of course has nothing to do with you becoming a Jesus fanboy. Or does it?

¶8>> So, I grew up in a devout Catholic household. I went to private Catholic school from kindergarten through 12th grade. I frequented the sacraments. I prayed all the time. I was totally into Catholicism.

¶9>> So, you've been brainwashed since childhood. And then you become a young adult and start at thinking. So, you become an atheist. But unfortunately, your childhood indoctrination is catching up with you again. This unfortunately is a very common story.

¶10Nothing special so far. >> Oh, and I also have some cool things later on in the video. So, stay tuned. >> Joe, it almost looks as if there is something else that you want to tell us. >> But then, in the summer before senior year, I stumbled across this YouTube channel called the Worldview Design.

¶11>> Yeah, I'm pretty sure you will announce another big reveal in the near future. But let's stick to the silly God thing. >> testifying to things like, "Oh, you know, like a few days ago, I literally saw with my own eyes and multiple people present also saw it and they told me afterwards where like multiple things were just flying across the room of their own accord and various other like instantaneous supernatural changes in facial structure or eyes or various other things like levitation and so on. Complete instantaneous permanent remission of advanced multiple sclerosis and instantaneous removal of blindness at the same time. Oh, and then he prays to one of these Catholic saints.

¶12And then, afterwards, both of his legs are straight and completely healed." >> As you can see, Joe has turned into a complete nut job. But the worst is yet to come. >> And those six values need to fall within exceedingly narrow ranges in order for life or basically anything interesting to develop. So, like we sort of hit the complete cosmic jackpot there. >> For the sake of Gandalf, not fine-tuning again.

¶13So many atheists, including myself, have demonstrated what an utterly poor argument that is. It totally misunderstands probability and it's circular. It needs its own conclusion that a god exists in order to get to its conclusion that a god exists. It's so annoying that people like yourself keep ignoring this and just repeat the same old hogwash. >> And so, what helped me change my heart?

¶14I mean, ultimately it was God, right? But what what changed? Well, it started with Saint Maria Goretti. >> Just so you know, Joe's picking up a copy of the Saint Maria Goretti story, which is one of the most horrible cases of child murder in European history, and Joe smiles. He apparently thinks there's reason to smile.

¶15He seems to be inspired by this story, which I think is rather worrying. >> I watched this video produced by Gabby Afterhours on the story of Saint Maria Goretti. And long story short, you know, she's this 11-year-old girl whose 20-year-old neighbor takes an impure liking to her. >> Just to be clear, this is a story of a grown man who wants to 11-year-old girl. Just so we're clear on this.

¶16>> And one day this 20-year-old neighbor, Alessandro Serenelli, comes up to her and says, you know, "Unless you do what I want you to do, I'm going to And he's got this like long, sharp object that he's pointing at her. >> So, this grown man wants to 11-year-old girl, and he's now demanding that he can her by threatening to kill her. And remember, this is not a fantasy story from the Bible. These horrible events actually happened. >> And she says, "No.

¶17I'm going to remain pure." And so, he stabbed her ultimately 14 times. >> And the little girl does not survive. This is a real-life horror story exposing the worst of the worst evil acts that man is capable of doing. But now comes the sick twist. Just before dying, the little girl says she forgives her killer and says she wants him to be with her in heaven.

¶18This girl is so much indoctrinated by Catholic teachings that she supports the idea that if a man who first wanted to rape her and then kill her when she resists, that man should be forgiven and he's to get eternal heavenly rewards if he becomes a Catholic. It's hard to express how disgusting I think this doctrine is. It encourages PDF files from all over the world to go for it. You can always try and if you get caught, just become a Catholic and the Pope will forgive you. After all, God himself impregnated a young girl in order to create Jesus, which is another remarkable concept because God supposedly can speak planets into existence.

¶19So it would have been a piece of cake for him to speak Jesus into existence, but this one time he apparently was done speaking and he thought, "Eh, let's impregnate a young girl. What could go wrong? Human beings would never see my actions as an inspirational example, would they?" Now this of course is not the fault of the little girl, Maria Goretti. She's a double victim. She's the victim of her killer and of this disgusting doctrine that is promoted by the Catholic Church.

¶20And by promoting this doctrine, the Catholic Church encourages PDF files from all over the world to do unspeakable things. At least you would only encourage these PDF files if you were to promote these horrible events as some sort of evergreen Catholic feel-good story instead of the disgusting nightmare it is in reality. So, what does Joe do? >> It's like what when I reflected on this story, I was like, this is such a profound and beautiful story of radical forgiveness, radical love, radical purity. This is such a profound and beautiful story.

¶21This is such a profound and beautiful story. >> No, you pedantic cucumber salad for brains. This is not a profound or beautiful story. This is a horrible, horrible story of a little girl who was brutally attacked by a vicious killer. And in the end, the management of your Jesus fan club says, uh you're a member of our club, so our God forgives you.

¶22And when you're done with jail, you can go work for us. You'll find a lot of like-minded people within our ranks. Look, I'm not a fan of hell. I think it's a ridiculous concept, but if hell were to exist, this guy should be in it. This guy should be in hell for what he did to Maria Goretti.

¶23But you, Joe, you're now celebrating that he got away with it because you think that's profound and beautiful. It almost makes me puke. >> This is such a profound and beautiful story. This is such a profound and beautiful story. And then in addition to that, I had these like >> [music] >> quasi-religious experiences where I was just like I'd just be sitting in gym and I would just feel almost in waves, just like this sense, you could be a saint.

¶24You could be a saint. >> Yeah, next thing you'll hear is that you are Jesus. This boy has totally lost his mind. And I really start wondering why Princeton thinks it's a good idea to let this dubious character be one of their PhDs. >> God is good.

¶25So good. Don't write off who you take to be even the hardest of sinners. Because where sin abounds, grace abounds all the more. >> And especially since Joe just revealed us that he thinks that the horrible Mary Goretti story is so beautiful and profound. These last words of Joe can only be understood as no matter how bad you've been, no matter how many girls you violated, there is always a place for you within our predatory self-help group as long as you become a member of our religious indoctrination cult.

¶26>> Wow, isn't that so cool? I don't know, I love it. My friend Juan put it together. Thank you, Juan. Everyone say, "Thank you, Juan." >> Yeah, more reveals to come.

¶27That was it for today. Thanks for watching.
